He holds a PhD in Composition from the University of Toronto under the supervision of Professor Christos.
Kian Emami is a composer and president of the Dynamic Association of Iranian-Canadian Composers (ICOT) in Toronto.
His professors include Professor Alexander Rapaport, Norbert Palz, Ryan McCland, Chan Canin, and James Kippen.
Kian Emami completed his master’s degree in composition at Tehran University of the Arts and won the award for best master’s thesis.
He is proud to be a student of professors such as Aram Khachaturian, Talib Khan Shahidi, Khayyam Mirzazadeh (former head of the composition department at the Baku State Conservatory), Hamid Reza Dibazer
(Head of the Faculty of Music at the University of Arts), Sharif Lotfi (Former President of the University of Arts), Ahmad Pejman, Hossein Dehlavi, Mostafa Pour Torab, Mehran Rouhani, Amir Eslami,
Kiavash had the owner of Nasq, Kambiz Roshan Ravan, Tamara Validze and the order to improve.
He has experience in making pieces in the forms of symphony, suite and concerto.
He is an active member of the SOCAN Foundation and the Canadian Composers Association and teaches as an assistant in the School of Music at the University of Toronto.
He has also served as an executive at the University of Toronto Contemporary Music Festival.
Kian has worked as a music teacher at Tehran University of Arts, Azad University, Tehran University of Applied Sciences, and Tehran Conservatory.
He has taught various subjects such as piano playing, form, music history, tonal harmony, counterpoint and orchestration in these centers.
